the person didnt use the "hint" field either + its notebook whch makes switch HDD's a pain

and its silly to format coz of that

The user is the administrator account? I guess you could use Hiren's boot disk to try and copy the stuff out, not sure but it may also have a user password util.

Hack the local user admin account, use a pass hacker tool to hack the sam database.

I know there was a really easy hack .iso for XP. where u could just insert cd, boot from it and it would ignore all pass'es. Is there such a thing for vista?

PS: i understand how ppl can forget pass for forum X, but jeez pass for ur pc is like top priority :/

i have a the idea that the admin pass reset for wxp also work on vista, the sam model is the same.hirens boot cd will do the job, if you are unable to dl it, pm me and I can put one online.

actually now that i think about it, its really amazing im being asked about this prob for the first time in 10 years. Coz, oh my, ive seen some "stupid" (computer illiterate, otherwise fine) ppl.
