Need new one (for few months now, been using my notebook)

I know quiet a lot about the pc components, but motherboards are still tricky.

2 things from experience:
1) don't buy MSI (just like I don't buy non-WD hdd)
2) buy >100 euro mark

I've never used Gigabyte, but did use Asus

Any suggestions between these 2 asus p8p67 or gigabyte ga-p67a?

personally I'd go with the Asus. They're a decent brand, and always have a guarantee.

My entire PC studio is Acer branded (branch off Asus) and I've never had a problem.
however I have had issues with the Gigabyte brand before.

It mainly depends what you want to use it for, i.e. PCI-E slots, Cache, bus etc.

Acer is not a branch of any kind of Asus (branch of asus was ASRock, but has since gone solo and shifted from low-range to high end)

Mainly Acer is "cheaper" than Asus, or more mainstream if you will

Gigabyte is also decent but they tend to stick less features in same price category (at least thats the impression i have atm)

Also Asus' motherboard has EFI, anyone got experience with that? (replacement for BIOS)

just read new motherboard chipset is coming out in May (Z68), so ill prolly wait...

Everything mobo related in my kingdom is asus always above the 200€ price range... those are my two cents.

wow there big spender, still just a student
