Well it seems the college network blocks all types of websites like facebook and such until after 5 and even worse is their connection blocks steam from working!!

Anyone got any ideas how to get it working please share lol I'll have fridays and the weekends to myself and we won't be getting assignments for at least a few weeks, so gotta have something tp dp until then other than go for walks and ) !

Ask the admin to unblock the ports to use steam (cant remeber what they are)

there are countless proxy services (free)

but personally i wouldnt trust em with my passwords

Well, I were the sysadmin there, and I do block lots of sites in schools and stuff, there is no way to make steam pass if it has all ports blocked.

There are methods, but they do require the presence of a machine outside the school network with a service to re-route the inside packets. Otherwise, forget-it.

And, if do try to use "free" proxies available around... you might end with your steam account stolen.
