I'm planning on giving another lan party for about 16 people in the last part of august and am looking for new games to add to the list.

Now i think L4D (1 or 2) would be ideal for events like this. But i'm bothered with the decision which version would fit the best ?

I've only played the demo's of both games so can't really form a decent opinion. That's why i want to ask the opinion of everyone who has played both versions.

So the general idea is to play the campaign in groups of 4 ( 4 x 4 ). I also heard something about there being a versus mod ? what's the max players on this & would it be fun ?

Yeah campaigns on 4on4 is like the standard 5on5 in css (and its also the max and min without having an AI player)

I only played L4D which is great if you are playing wioth people you know

L4D2 is more fun, when L4D is somewhat scearier. They made L4D2 more funny in some ways and it's also usually not too dark maps as compared to L4D.

Half Life: Co-op (epic epic cooperative game)

Shame you cant get hold of Alien vs Predator 2 anymore. Its one of the best multiplayer experiances I had and fun for 16 ppl in both TD and Escape. But sadly they shut down the MP servers. Dont remember if LAN was a choice. IF you can get it and it has LAN then go for it IMHO!!

This is also why I was so disapointed with the new AvP game.

They removed multiplayer on the new AvP because they didn't want ppl playing it over Hamachi and they were afraid of modifications... that is fuc*ing bs...

Tectical Ops ( is a lol game from Unreal, rly old but funny shooter)
Serious Sam HD First encouner ( after 4 diff patches, managed to fool steam & play on lan )
Left for Dead 2 ( seems to be the wannahave ? )
