Agree

Mine has now around 5 years of bad treatment (yeah, when I get pissed of being knifed like hell, sometimes it gains wings) and still up to the job

Its a green Razer copperhead, the only thing It should have (more), is a middle resoluttion point between 800 and 1200 Dpi, 800 is tooooo slow and 1200 is tooo fast for my shaking oldman hand

corrected the image.
dpi change is pretty much the same as sensitivity change
so i dont see a problem in setting the sensitivity a lil higher/lower

Used to have that when using onboard sound (realtek)

I think its either sound or mobo related... also had it when on high OC, after changing to a creative soundcard it stopped.
DS : No worries. I've just tried to burn then microwave then shred my wow invite.

yes and no

after not having a dedicated sound card (like from 2005 ?) i noticed that integrated soundcards cant fully isolate static from motherboard

but now its to the point where it actually annoys me, where before it wasnt even loud enough without me yanking up volume

will try my old mouse and see what happens

I didn't have one too for a long time, ever since mobos came with onboard sound and creative started having all those issues with Vista. Then last year I got this one also because the humming was driving me mad, playing css, trying to hear something and hearing "bbbZZZZBBBZZZZzzzbbBBZZZZbbbbZZZZZzzzbbbbZZZZZBBBBB", its more noticeable when you move the mouse right? Used to have a VGA that also did some noise but that was 100% sure from the O.C. ATI 2900 PRO, it had a 600 MHz core pushed to 800... Exactly the same as the bigger brother at the time (2900XTX) but "cut down" on speed by bios, it was a beast, too bad the AA and AF sucked on that one, now its on a box on my shelf

Anyway now that you mention that it makes sense it could be from the mouse.

Its quite easy explainable, or so...

Try changing the mouse frequency and see if it helps, Razer mices are fast ans quite a bit of a cpu hog due to its high frequency.

Going into the computer device settings, try assigning a different PNP IRQ to the usb system, it can be sharing with the crappy sound card you have.

At the last, even a cheap creative will solve the problem, buy one pci-e for best results.
