I would drop a weapon with the ability to intantly slay anyone. The player will ofc take it unknowing that 'anyone' includes the weilder aswell

I would drop an item that will say "increase all stats by 100%" but it actually shrinks the player to the size of a pea, and causes any damage they do to be mirrored onto themselves. Just to be kind, it's got a 20 minute time limit on it

I would drop an egg, that hatches into a kickass little critter that follows you everywhere and wants to protect you, and binds in with the story line, so you end up wanting to protect this little critter
