i could log in, but it only loaded a small area around me (i was at my crazy music machine) (a work in progress) my music ws still working, though there was nothing around that area, i could see some redstone repeaters in the distance. when i tried to turn on fly, it didnt turn on. i came onto the forums here and as i did so, the music stopped, i looked and it said connection lost

I think it might be a connection issue, since it does the same thing as when i'm lagging? You destroy a block and it reappears, and blocks take a long time to load. If it's not a connection issue, I can't think of anything else

why release it if its not ready , my minecraft wont let me update so i cant even get on the server to complain about the new problems

I think it's just the TWK server (or a handful of servers, including TWK), because the Yogscast managed to upload a video of the update (and it must be online since both Simon and Lewis were in the same place), and I haven't seen anyone having the same problems

removed our world (could be a chunk problem) and generated a new one
started the server vanilla

All dead ends...

well, in a nik of time, I tested on two of my home servers, Notch broken something, I started the mc server vanilla in two very powerfull machines with updated java libs and no luck, it gives out a endofstream, even connecting to localhost.

there not much expertise here, its a jar started with java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui...

and no luck

lets see what comes up in the next days.

wooohooo got the update to work, except although i can now get onto the server, i dont see much update. exactly the same as it was before for me, no loading problems and the random lag every 15 secs or so

The 1.6.4 chunks not loading is a reported problem.

If I do meet Notch, I would just slap him about this.

The SMP is bugged and cannot send chunks as it cannot load them into memory, I have call traces showing millions of read errors that never get to the OS to be processed (read from disk), Notch made something weird that blocks itself from reading... weird.. and VERY STUPID.

Lets wait.. till then... have patience.
