This week has been a week of coders flurrying to to get scripts sorted, The English claiming the only reason they got beat was because the Germans are awesome and Brazilians flooding the streets of Rio de Janeiro with emo tears.

This week also saw the homecoming of competitive counterstrike! To my delight. KGL were the first to launch a tournament since the update. We played in the knock-out stage of the KGL summer cup, with the semi-final of our bracket against [FP] on De_Tuscan, which we won 16-5! The final of the cup, against SOG, was played on de_nuke (one of my favourite maps) and finished 16-13 to us.. So congratulations to Tin, Slab, Greenie, Vapour and Eskimo for bringing it home.

After Valve latest update moving CSS to Orangebox engine, as you all know most mods got broken.

One of the mods was of course Warcraft Source.

The main issue with WCS is not directly related to the mod but to ES Tools that stopped working (Not Eventscripts, that got recently updated but ES Tools, responsible for most of the effects and powers of races).

There are people trying to come up with a replacement to ES Tools but its still not stable or has all the functionality EST had, and on top of that we would have to rewrite all races to "speak" that language instead of EST.

We have a different solution that we can implement, a Sourcemod based one, but it lacks races (all the races Pooky has dedicatedly worked on all this time) and is coded totally differently so this would mean having to rewrite 80+ races (mind you we would have to do the same for WCS with EST replacement) but in a totally different language.

We have the whole mod backed up (along with races, XP etc) so for now we have set up the old WCS server as it was, maps, etc, but with RPG mod to get people back and playing together again whilst we await further news.

If there is a different type of server you would all rather play on whilst we wait on news of WCS (as long as it is also not broken by Valve!), please let us know.
